Historique :
Cimetière à plusieurs niveaux de sépultures. Plusieurs types de sépultures ont été trouvés, les plus anciens de l'époque romaine, d'autres utilisant des fragments de colonnes romaines comme couvercle, d'autres d'époque médiévale. Beaucoup de couvercles ont été réemployés pour clôturer l'actuel cimetière. D'autres lieux d'inhumation ont été découverts autour de ce cimetière. Actuellement on dénombre environ 16000 sarcophages

On y voit de nombreux sarcophages de pierre, rectangulaire ou trapézoïdaux. Certains couvercles demi-cylindriques ont été taillés dans des colonnes remployées appartenant à des monuments gallo-romains. On aperçoit au fond la clôture du cimetière, faite de couvercles dressés.
