Le phare des Roches-Douvres, en totalité, y compris son soubassement, situé en Manche sur le plateau des Roches-Douvres, à mi-distance des îles de Bréhat (Côtes d'Armor) et de Guernesey (Grande-Bretagne), sur le domaine public maritime non cadastré, coordonnées géographiques : 49°06 30 3 N 02°48 84 8 W : classement par arrêté du 20 avril 2017

Historique :
Ce phare, le dernier en mer construit en France et le plus éloigné des côtes européennes, est un ouvrage complexe de pierre et de béton, imprégné de références architecturales et maritimes. Entièrement détruit en août 1944 par les Allemands qui l’occupaient, il est reconstruit dès 1947 et le feu est allumé en juin 1954. L’édifice est d’une ampleur et d’un confort inégalés pour un ouvrage de ce type et constitue une pièce majeure du programme de reconstruction des phares après la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

The circular building in the center of the image is the palais du Champ-de-Mars, which contained a large part of the Fair. The Palais was built by Frédéric Le Play and Jean-Baptiste Krantz, and housed the countries' exhibits (France occupied about 40 percent of its total surface).
