Historique :
Vers 1855, le conseil de fabrique fait appel à l'architecte Théberge pour entreprendre la construction d'une nouvelle église de style néogothique. Il s'agit d'un vaisseau avec une façade à deux tours (flèches inachevées) , transept saillant, choeur à déambulatoire avec chapelle axiale (jamais réalisée). Les travaux s'étendent de 1863 à 1927. L'église avait été pourvue d'un ensemble de verrières signées Duhamel-Marette, détruites par les bombardements de 1944.
