Description :
Le projet d'un pont routier permettant de relier Plougastel-Daoulas au Relecq-Kerhuorn, au-dessus de l'embouchure de l'Elorn, est impulsé par le président du Conseil général Albert Louppe à partir de 1922. Le chantier de l'ouvrage, conçu par l'ingénieur Eugène Freyssinet et exécuté par l'entreprise Limousin, débute en 1926. Le pont , ayant la plus grande portée de l'époque (560 m), est constitué de trois arcs en béton armé de 186 m chacun sur une hauteur de 42 m par rapport au fond de la rivière. Le tablier de 9 m de large est également en béton ; sous celui-ci est aménagée une galerie pour le passage d'une voie ferrée (jamais mise en service). A chaque extrémité du pont, sont installées des sculptures de René Quivillic représentant un couple de paysans de chacun des deux pays bretons reliés par le pont. Une arche du pont fut dynamitée en 1944, puis reconstruite. Doublé par le pont de l'Iroise, le pont Albert-Louppe sert actuellement aux circulations piétonnières et aux deux-roues.
