Historique :
Les restes de l'abbaye cistercienne, fondée en 1136, se retrouvent sur tout le territoire du département (restes du cloître à Saint-Gaudens ; façade de la salle capitulaire à Saint-Martory...). Le bâtiment d'entrée formant passage voûté sur croisées d'ogives, remplissage circulaire en briques à Toulouse, hôtel de Bernuy. Le pigeonnier présente à l'intérieur, une multitude de niches réalisées en tuileaux enduits. L'accès au pigeonnier se fait par une porte basse au pied. Les pigeons y pénètrent par une lucarne. Une lanterne éclaire l'intérieur.
