Historique :
Le château se composait de deux enceintes, la première à l'ouest ; la seconde, qui formait un parallélogramme, s'étendait du nord au sud, entourée de douves et flanquée de six grosses tours qui conservent des chambres voûtées à nervures, avec corbelets et cheminées sculptés. Toutes les tours sont reliées entre elles par un chemin de ronde voûté. L'ensemble des constructions paraît dater du XIIIe siècle. Au XVe siècle, le château subit un siège et fut pris.
